Clippings

When I won third place on Brazilian's Computer Society (SBC) - 2003 - for best Final Year Project Competition (in Portuguese).

It reads: "Computer Science -- Two recent undergraduate students of Computer Science were awarded, with 3rd place, in the 22nd Final Year Project Competition, promoted by the Brazilian Computing Society (Sociedade Brasileira de Computação - SBC). The work from students XXXX and Ricardo Czekster showcases a computational tool to help healthcare professionals for visualising medical images. The research An interactive tool for visualising and measure extraction of medical images were supervised by Dr Isabel Manssour and presented the MedScape system, that implements a software tool to analyse magnetic ressonance and CT-scan images.'This tool offers a list of features, such as distances, angles, area, and perimeter computation', explains Czekster. The data were acquired by the Image Diagnostic Centre of São Lucas Hospital (PUCRS)."

The "original" "Selly Oak" at Selly Oak (located at Bristol Road and Harborne Lane):


Felled around 1909 due to root rot & damage to buildings nearby. Stump now in Selly Oak Park nearby. Dendrochronology dated the tree origins back to 1710-1720.
